Dedicated. Creative. Curious
TNE is a community-led enterprise; a platform pioneered by people who want to see the media landscape re-imagined for the betterment of all. This mission takes a village, one that is vibrant, diverse, and courageous to liberate our stories and take us to a new equilibrium. Read more about the faces behind TNE.

Serena Prieto
As an English and Film undergraduate at Royal Holloway, University of London I have a strong desire to ignite social change through storytelling. People whose stories reflect their courage to be true to self are the most liberating and empowering. Everyone deserves to have their story told. This is my aspiration for The New Equilibrium.

Eirwen Burgess
I am a BA History student at Royal Holloway, University of London. As I have focused my studies on modern social and political history, I have learnt many inspiring stories of people who sparked necessary social change. This is why I am honoured to be involved in TNE - we are actively trying to share similarly honest and empowering stories. My experience is growing in the editing field. I have worked on scripts for the award-winning short films Iridescent and The Orchard.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR FASHION &
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Eloïse Atkins
I am a fashion photography graduate from UAL, London College of Fashion. A key element of my practice is to treat fashion and beauty as a means to explore and portray diverse identities and create a safe space for individuals who feel like they are underrepresented within the media. I'm driven to examine and interweave cultural and social themes in a visually compelling manner as I believe in the importance of educating and empowering inclusivity. Becoming an Editor with TNE is amazing as I get to be a part of a team that embodies these values and amplifies marginalised voices.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR VIDEO
Elly Anderson
As a Film, Television and Digital Productions BA student currently studying at Royal Holloway, University of London, and an aspiring producer, it is my intention in life to tell the stories of those who are frequently underrepresented in mainstream media. The New Equilibrium offers me a chance to educate myself and others about the power of storytelling through film and I'm excited to be working with a group of like-minded individuals.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR SUSTAINABILITY
Emma Rantakangas
Publishing a book at nine years old and receiving an award for it unveiled my strength for writing. Further, having been sat in committees and councils within my education has further encouraged my voice to be heard. Coming from a family amongst a spectrum of cultures worldwide made me aware of various issues that I feel passionate about. I am in a privileged position to speak upon matters that affect various minorities due to my mixed ethnicity and understanding of the cruelty and suppression people receive. It is a honour to have the New Equilibrium as a platform to use my voice and raise the issues that are present in society today. However, I also have a creative side - going off to study interior design at UWE.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR COMMUNITY

Writing was never natural. The restriction of words seemingly locked on a page, no movement, no colours, no meaning at the tender age of 10. Then the beauty of literature erupted my imagination. Reaching slight maturity, my opinions needed a page. I realised that more voices = answers to trillions of questions = less ignorance = less conflict. I have studied the power and I’m still learning. I wish to show people an insight to cultures, religions, talk about politics and worldly issues, and give people an insight into my mind. Thoughts can’t be recorded but words can.

SENSITIVITY READER
Alixander Thompson
I believe there is great power in stories, and as an editor and author, it is my pleasure to help people tell them. I spend most of my online time advocating for better representation of – and raising awareness about – LGBT+ issues, disabilities, autism and chronic conditions. When not doing these things, I can usually be found holed up with a notebook and a cup of tea, building my fictional worlds.
